Holiday packing…a necessary evil that we love to hate. Whether you’re jetting off around the world, or planning stay-cation, packing is often seen as a stressful experience.
Space-saving expert, Simon Glanville offers his advice top tips for a stress-free suitcase:
1. Make a list
This will eliminate the fear of leaving anything essential at home (toothbrushes are the most common one!). Start with the most necessary items, then go through your daily routine in your head. Writing a list will not only ensure you don’t forget anything, it will also stop you from over-packing.
2. Roll AND fold your clothes
It’s been proven that the most effective way to utilise space in your suitcase is by using both folding techniques – think of it like a game of Tetris. You can take your folding techniques a step further with vacuum packing; sucking the air out helps you fit more than double the amount into your suitcase while keeping your clothes neat.
3. Pack toiletries and jewellery in separate zip lock bags
This will ensure that you don’t suffer at the hands of leaking shampoo and will keep your valuables safe.
4. Bring along a bag for your dirty clothes
Not only does this help keep your suitcase organised while you’re away, it makes the (dreaded) task of unpacking, much easier.
