Connecting with a Higher Force: 4 Reasons for Making Prayers a Part of Your Everyday Life

Kiran Singh

The state of the world seems to be chaos with no sign of levelling out to a normal way of life any time soon. Now more than ever people are turning to religion and prayer to help calm their anxiety and find hope for the future.

One of the many ways individuals can help one another is to pray for each other. Another way to show caring is to give prayer enrollment cards. These prayer cards can be given to someone as a remembrance of a loved one, on a special occasion or for a prayer request.

Higher Force

Here are 4 reasons for making prayer a part of your everyday life.

  1. Prayers Are the Answer

When you are faced with a tough decision, a life-altering choice or you simply don’t know what to do with what life is throwing at you, praying is the answer. Many people turn to prayer when they are in trouble or need help, but daily prayer is a better way to connect and stay connected, to your higher power.

You may not receive an answer to every prayer, but it is not in the answers we gain a better understanding of ourselves and our relationship with others. It is in what God teaches us that we learn and grow.

  1. Praying for Others

When we put aside our anger, resentment and jealousy, and pray for those who have hurt us, we become a better, calmer person. When we ask God to bless those who don’t have as much as we do, we become grateful for what we have.

Prayers are not always a request for something material. Prayers can be for forgiveness, wisdom, blessings for others, and so much more. When we take the focus off ourselves and pray for other people, we are taking action against self-destruction and negativity in our own lives.

  1. Prayers at Meals

When you pray at meals, or anytime you are about to put food in your mouth, you are reminding yourself to give thanks. When you pray and are grateful for the food, you will be reminded to be thankful for all things in your life.

Prayers of thanks for even the smallest blessings, like locating a good parking spot, finding something on sale, or for a good hair day, is a good start towards a prayerful day. Praying shows gratitude and a grateful person attract more blessings than an ungrateful person.

  1. Becoming Closer To God

When we pray, we become closer to God, where we find comfort, as well as a calmness of the soul, found nowhere else. There is no harm in becoming a prayerful person, and getting to know your Heavenly Father. Having something to believe in, something to look forward to and knowing everything will work out is worth more than all the money in the world. Peace of mind is priceless.

You may not have everything you want on this Earth. But if you are praying every day, thankful and appreciative of everything you have, you will find yourself in a better place.
