Single Parenting: Quality Time Parenting

Single parents searching for fun, inexpensive ways to make your parenting time memorable for your child may be easier than you think.  Whether you have joint custody, full custody or non-custodial rights, it’s important to spend quality time with your child.  Many children don’t care whether you’re rich and cool; they often just want to have fun with you.  So, here are some helpful tips to spice up your single parenting time with your child.

• Go for a bike run.
• Read a funny book out loud.
• Go to the zoo.
• Bake or cook something together.
• Rent a funny movie or watch one free together at the library.
• Take a hike along a river path.
• Shoot baskets at the park or community center.
• Paint something.
• Visit a local animal shelter.  Take a dog for a walk or pet a rabbit.
• Watch the airplane fly in and out at the airport.
• Go roller skating.
• Play a card or board game.
• Go to church together.
• Go to KIDS AM (95p!), museums, ballgames.
• Visit a fire station.
• Take a parent/child community education class together.
• Do community volunteer work together.
• Feed the ducks at a local lake or park.
• Write a story or song together.
